The power of the retweet – a UNESCO mention for me!

Last week I had a bit of a rant on archaic practices that Teacher Education providers insist on perpetuating. The post generated some comment both on the blog and over twitter but I was totally amazed when I fired up tweetdeck this morning to see this mention:

My blog and UNESCO mentioned in the same tweet. How cool is that? Ok said account is actually a chair at a University sponsored by UNESCO  to support elearning (so there was an element of preaching to the choir). Nevertheless I will bask in the awesomeness that a) a bunch of people shared something I wrote and b) the post was worthy enough of a mention by someone with UNESCO in their job title. :-)

  1. Hi Stephanie,

We are glad that you feel so honored after noticing our retweet :-)
In fact, we enjoy sharing the small pieces of knowledge we find around the web. It doesn’t mather if the content we find comes from a world-wide-known guru or not; if we find something interesting, it deserves a RT ;-)

    Best regards!

  2. Hi,
Thanks for stopping by. Your comment has me thinking about how the internet and social media has the potential to truly democratize education.

    Stephanie
